When it comes down to it, if you're playing 750 and barely fighting battles that don't have more than 750 then yeah, Tactics really doesn't play a huge roll, the only other thing it does is decreases the amount of troops you lose when retreating, but that's lame. Of course this is only applicable if the math still works like that, and I believe lords also have their own tactics skills that are randomly generated upon game creation so that is a variable in itself. However with 8 tactics (Which gives 4 advantage) It would even the odds to 450 vs 300 (Since the limit in this scenario was 300 troops for your side) which are obviously more favourable. Obviously at 750 everyone just shows up on the field but, if the enemy had outnumbered say 1200 vs 300 or 4:1 odds (Which happens from time to time when an enemy kingdom marshals it's force at you) at 750 battle size that would mean what would show up on the field is something like 560 vs 180 give or take. Not that its relevant here, but v1.126 of Warband is available. Finger's crossed.Īnd I believe tactics does have a place to play at any battle size, I'm not entirely sure how it works in Warband but I think in the original Mount and Blade it would even the odds, so say it was 500 vs 100 at 0 tactics it'd be 5:1 so the enemy would spawn with 80 troops vs your 20 at 100 limit size. Just to be sure, what version of Warband are you running, and what version of the Battle Size Changer When you start Warband, it should show the version in the upper right of the initial window, and the version of the Battle Size Changer should be shown up in the title bar of it. My computer isn't the best so I had it running at 300 for the longest time but 400 doesn't seem to be too much a problem honestly. I currently have it at 400, I'm thinking maybe bumping it up to 500 though.
